McCants’ Braylen Crosby Named to All-American Bowl |
|
Braylen Crosby, an eighth-grader at McCants Middle School, was selected to play in the Football University Youth All-American Bowl, which took place on Sunday, January 10, in San Antonio, Texas. Braylen is the sole representative from the state of South Carolina named to this prestigious honor and was selected over thousands of very talented players.
The Youth All-American Bowl will be played in the Alamodome the day after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The Youth All-American selection process starts with 60 FBU (Football University) regional directors and scouts located throughout the United States identifying the top youth talent in America. After reviewing thousands of nominations, the FBU player development directors will select 44 athletes (22 east 22 west) per game to be named FBU All-Americans. We are proud of you, Braylen #71!

| "Inspire Your Career: Empower Your Life” was the theme for this year’s National Career Development Month Poetry and Poster Contest. Students from McCants Middle School submitted entries that were judged by the career message conveyed and for originality in three different categories. Meredith Beck, Rebecca Emanuel, and Austin Skelton were recognized as school winners for their poetry. Jake Miller and Faith Garrison turned in winning posters created using crayons, markers, and paint. Claire Counts, Alexander Charping, and Chase Cleveland submitted the top multi-media posters. The work of these students then advanced to the regional contest for our area. McCants is proud to announce that Meredith Beck, Alexander Charping, and Chase Cleveland were named regional winners. Congratulations to all students who participated in this event! |
