| Thank you, Veterans! |
| The McCants Annual Veterans Day Ceremony took place last week with a crowd of over 300 guests and students. The AVID 8th grade students and teachers hosted the celebration. The AVID speakers included Moeshia Scott, Christopher Vita, Sydeny Sato, Sade Shuler, and Rashaan Thomas. All AVID students worked extremely hard preparing for this ceremony: writing essays and speeches, practicing public speaking skills, decorating, photographing and video recording, manning the breakfast table, and greeting the Veterans. Mrs. Brissey and Mrs. Owens would like to thank the McCants Band and Orchestra, Mrs. Carole Phillips and Mrs. Leigh Burton (singers), The TL Hanna Navy Jr. ROTC Color Guard, and Reverend Mel Davis (keynote speaker). It was a great tribute to the men and women who have served our country. |

| McCants Students Enjoy a Limo Lunch! |
| The McCants PTA sponsored a limo lunch for students who sold at least 15 items in the fall fundraiser. The students were taken to Matty's Downtown where they enjoyed lunch with their friends. Thanks PTA and everyone involved with the fundraiser. The McCants faculty and students appreciate all of your hard work. |

Access Your Child's Grades On-Line! | ![]() |
|
Anderson District 5 has a great new tool that allows parents to view their child’s grades and attendance information on-line at any time. This will be “real time” access, which means parents can view grades as soon as teachers enter grades into the PowerSchool grade book program. As grades are entered, averages will appear immediately. In fact, grades may even change as you are viewing them. In order to have access to this program, parents must go to the guidance office and bring a picture ID to prove they are the parent or legal guardian. Parents will receive a password and an informational sheet as to how to log in to see grades and attendance. Each child will have only one password, but any member of the family can use that same password if so designated to do so by the parent or legal guardian. Click on the link below to download a form that parents will need to fill out and bring with them to gain access to this program. This form will also be available in the guidance office when parents come to register for their password.
